The on-site recorder is the weak point
Investigating retail losses, the same pattern kept appearing: the cameras worked perfectly and the recorder was gone, or full, or had been overwriting itself for eleven months without anyone noticing. Moving the recording off site fixes all three problems at once, and makes completeness something you can actually measure.
